Cranberry juice has been known to increase shine in brunettes, but if you use the store bought kind, your hair is less likely to shine, and more likely to end up a sticky mess. Try making your own cranberry juice at home by following this very simple hair recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb of fresh cranberries
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- Bring the water to a boil in a medium sized saucepan. Add the cranberries and allow them to cook until they burst. Once they burst, lower the heat and allow the cranberries to release as much juice as possible.
- Strain the cranberries and let the juice cool before applying to your hair. You can save the cranberries for a homemade cranberry sauce!
- Once the juice has cooled, pour the juice into your hair and massage it into your scalp. This is best performed over a bath tub. Rub the cranberry juice into all sections of your hair. Rinse it out with cool water for extra shine, and allow it to dry naturally.
WARNING: This cranberry rinse is not recommended for blondes, as the cranberry could affect the color of your locks.
Tip: If you have very oily hair, try squeezing the juice of one lemon into the cranberry juice. Lemon is known to remove excess oil from the scalp.
